Julie Jarrell:Without Him, I Am Nothing

I want to thank God for His provisions, His mercy and grace, His favour, His deliverance and for good friends, for letting me understand that without him i am nothing, that He is the way, the truth and light. Also, For His guidance throughout those four years in school( I am a graduate student!!!!)even when i did not properly acknowledge him, for his protection as well. For His abundant love upon my life and for making a way where there seem to be no way in my life and for opening doors of victory. Finally, for revelations; Before this time, I never remembered the encounters in my dreams, but ever since i started praying every night by 12am, I have had beautiful dreams and revelations it has been wonderful.... Thank You Dear Lord. I am Julie Anna and I can't stop thanking this God.

Karina Olali: He Leaves Me Dumbfounded

There is so much I have to thank God for. First, For the gift of life. Everytime the occurrences of How amazing He is to me leaves me wondering how special I am to God, and what I am worth that I am still so alive and well. Now, I am certain that I am worth more than words can express. God's grace has been sufficient through it all. I also want to really thank God for progress..... Everyday, I see myself growing even in my weaknesses, there's a positive growth. He hasn't let me down ever. So, between May and August, I've had a niece and three nephews, He is God all by himself for safe deliveries and provisions. For my brother's admission to his dream school that made me pray, fear and pray again, God is amazingly awesome. For my family, friends, roommates, course mates, I have more thanks than I can express. For a Successful Academic session, He leaves me dumbfounded. My God is faithful I Love Jesus. I am Karina Olali, this is my gratitude message to The A...

An Experience By Karina Olali

On Sunday, I had an argument with someone about 'Retaliation'. The person narrated a story on how it would have given her satisfaction to do a come back to someone who hurt her . I tried arguing but I'm not an argumentative person. So, I left it. Here I am today saying that you don't have to retaliate or ' revenge'.... If everyone was retaliating, this world would be worse than it is already. We probably would have died. An Example: When I was a child, my only brother pricked me with a used 'Hepatitis Injection ' on the 31st of December. I don't know how he got it, it wasn't intentional either. I had to take tetanus injection that night. It wasn't funny. The person who had this retaliation argument with me actually backed me to the pharmacist's house.... Would I have said because he caused me pain, I would prick him back? What if mine escalated and I lost my brother? I'm human and I understand that it is difficult to let go at t...

My Salvation Story By Favour Dubson

It was at night while I was slept. I had this terrible dream about the rapture and I'll be pleased to tell what I saw. In the dream I was in school learning and suddenly the sun got darkened and day turned night and immediately I got translocated to the church instantly. I was so baffled and wondering what was happening. Then i heard the trumpet and two angels came down into the church and we were line up on a straight long line. If you're moved to the right, there's like a portal that leads to heaven and the left leads to hell. So when it got to my turn I was told to go left and I was been sent to hell and immediately I woke up and wondered why I saw this. I did not really take it serious. The following day was on a sunday and i went to Christ Embassy and first timers were asked to wait behind. I was asked if i was born again i said yes even if i was not. The man beside me said no and he said the prayer of salvation and got born again. Then i was asked since i said i w...

Monday Motivation- Oswald Chambers

Oswald Chambers was a twentieth-century teacher and evangelist. His literary works outlives him. One of his quotes has a lot to say about the heartbeat of God. This is it;- "When the Lord said to the disciples, "Follow me and i will make you fishers of men " ( Matthew 4:19), His reference was not to the skilled angler, but to those who use the drag-net--something which requires practically no skill; the point being that you do not have to watch your "fish," but you have to do the simple thing and God will do the rest. The pseudo-evangelical line is that you must be on the watch all the time and lose no opportunity of speaking to people, and this attitude is apt to produce the superior person. It may be a noble enough point of view, but it produces the wrong kind of character. It does not produce a disciple of Jesus, but too often it produces the kind of person who smells of gunpowder and people are afraid of meeting him. According to Jesus Christ, what w...

My Salvation Story By Julie Jarrell

Deep inside, I always knew there was a place I originally belonged to. I did not quite know how, where and what it could be. But I was aware that there was a very good God, like most persons, in the common belief, i believed that He came to die for us all.... But that was all there was to it. I never personalised it, sometimes I felt the strong need to know more than I know, other times I felt all things will work at their own time. In the course of my tertiary education in Delta State, in the last quarter of 2017, I met a girl in the hostel I stayed in. Her name was her identity because in her.. I could see the hand of God so clear.... She carried on her activities effortlessly, It was clear that she was not the one missing out. We became friends and her frankness to alot of topics left me dazzled. She left me thinking that I was missing the main dish while begging for an appetizer. She could talk about you not staying in an immoral relationship that is ordered by sexual intercours...

My Testimony By Joseph Oduanam

The journey started some years ago immediately after my secondary school. I enrolled for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination with a total score of 230. I felt so proud of myself, and then I applied for post UTME exam in one of the federal universities in Nigeria. After writing the exam, I felt relaxed owing to the fact that I had a friend who was a 300level architectural student in the same university. As God may have it and in proving to me that we should not put our trust in any man except him. The friend I had there was not informed and so I missed a very vital information, and so I did not gain admission that year. The following year, I chose another university and this time it was the university in my state of origin. After scoring 219 in the JAMB exam, I enrolled for the post UTME exam. However before I wrote the exam, an uncle of mine who had schooled in the same university told me that I could pay some money to a lecturer to pave way for my admission. He s...

My Testimony By Ajiri Ubrufih

You know something funny about this life, you never think or believe that you can have certain experiences in your life until you are finally there. Well this is just one part of my story, nobody knows this story though, but the purpose of my sharing is for you to know that God is real. He sees and listens, He loves you so much and He is a very present help in our time of need. There was a time in my life when I used to have periods of moderate depression. Now these periods didn't usually last hours or a day, it could be a week or more and people wouldn't really notice because for some reason I'm assumed to be quiet (LOL).  I would be in my head for so long going through all my problems, wondering how I got there, loathing myself and my choices, my environment, people and their effect or rather their influence, seeing no way of progress  etc and then when I can't take it anymore, I cry my eyes out and confide in the one I know can help me. Jesus . Now the crazy thi...

My Evangelical Experience By Marvellous Martins

NOT LISTENING As a member of the Redeemed Christian Fellowship, Uniport, we usually have an evangelical program tagged; " INVADE " where we go in pairs to carry out personal evangelism in a particular preselected area around school. On this occasion, we chose Aluu in Rivers state. I went with a very good friend, Faith. We entered a compound where we saw a room, its door was opened and as we turned for the room we noticed a girl barely dressed on the floor. So, I instinctively moved towards another room to preach to another woman who was married and with children. It was a good one as we presented the gospel and gave tracts too. She said she was born again already so we just encouraged her. I then told my partner that I feel we should go back to the room where the girl was improperly dressed. I didn't want to shy away from them because, I initially assumed in my heart that they would not listen to us. At least, I felt that way because of previous experiences with this ...

My Testimony By Faith Dagana

Hey Guys, My name is Faith Dagana, I can genuinely say that God has really been faithful.. I gave my life to Christ in the month of December 2017. It has been an intriguing experience because I also received the gift of the Holy Spirit who is the helper, teacher, comforter, advocate and many more than words could explain. But there is something that has changed since I became I came into this relationship with the Holy Spirit and that is a great improvement in my health. I used to be the one to run to drugs for the slightest headache or pain. But ever since I got to know the Holy Spirit and the Word. I don't take drugs anymore. I just speak the Word and remind God of his promises to me and the pain goes away. Before now, my health was unstable, and I will always see drugs as the last resort. It's the sixth month since I took any form of medicine. I just want to give God the glory through this medium, because it is a miracle I can't take for granted, and I know He will...

My Experience by Adele Williams

You know how you feel when you figure out a puzzle, knowing you still have the next stage to battle with that feeling of victory accomplishment, with a spice of perseverance in soul winning because the journey goes on. this is exactly how I felt after my encounter with a young university undergraduate at River State University Of Science And Technology. Unlike the famous F and G hostel, Hostel E is known for its serene calm and psycho-friendly atmosphere with serious students (Like me)(Smiles*) Just like they say, you would always find the good the bad and the ugly. For the good, Its a blessed assurance. The ugly? Definitely, but trust me you would have do a real survey before you can find the bad. Trying to focus on the rant between the people I consider the funniest set I have ever lived with, I was distracted by an ungodly smell of weed with its 'botanical' Nigerian name - Igbo . when a young lad steeped in ....Opss I know him, This was exactly How I caught an interest i...

Hardened Hearts- An Experience.

I always made my way to what I call The Mission Field, I went in high spirits that tuesday morning, with my one of my partners, (like Paul and Silas). We were catching up and communicated very well on every matter concerning our Father. After we prayed, we asked for directions and the first two persons who were in a discussion before lectures were our first audience. After being permitted to speak, we did and asked some questions. When we were done...one of them looked willing, the other one looked like it was time to hit a question hard, He asked if the Holy Spirit was in the lives of those persons who were killed in the recent raids and attacks in the country. Gladly enough, The Holy Spirit gave the right answer through I and my partner and the young man was silent. We prayed andthanked them and went to the next set of willing ears, but before we did, I and my friend discussed about Paul, the apostle and the categories of people under his former character, Saul. we said that people ...

THE PLAYLIST

Finally, Brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. - Philippians 4:8 The music library can never be over emphasised and I believe that it tells alot about a person. The question to ask is, Do you listen to songs that edify and builds you? It is an important aspect to our dear Father and we must take it seriously as well. Many persons surrender their lives to Christ after a song ministration, and others are blessed in ways words cannot explain. If we desire the Holy Spirit as much as we say it or put it out there, we must check These are a few songs I recommend (I have too many to add, but let's do with this) 1)Mercy Chinwo- Ome ka nnaya 2) Doris Francis- None like you 3)Phil Thompson- My Worship 4) Solomon Lange- Grace 5)Clarkson Ikwunze- Glad you came 6) Travis Greene- Be Still 7)Darlene ...

My Experience by Ferdinand Kenneth

Hello Guys , I am Ferdinand Kenneth and I reside and school in Rivers State, Nigeria. I believe communicating with others about Christ has honestly been the most fulfilling assignment in the entire world and on that note, This is an evangelical experience I had recently. I have a friend who I care for but for long now, she felt God was not looking out for her anymore because of the present situations in her family(permit me not to talk about it.) All I can say is these situations caused her to doubt on our heavenly father, thoughts rushed in as to why a loving father will allow unfair things to happen to good people and leave them in lack. I don't know if we have ever thought about that too, because I have. However, I must say that God used me to speak in a manner that touched her deeply, even to the point of sowing into her life. It reminded me of Faith and Works , something that will always blend together. In His words through me, I said to her:- " L ove is not in when ...

WITH YOUR LEGS CROSSED

Hello , Recently I have been thinking on how we carry out the mission work in our different environments of interest; School, hangouts, marketplace, offices/work places or whatever organisation you find yourself in. This is because for ages, we prepare ourselves to talk to someone like it is an assignment too difficult to do. It is possible that we even find gossiping easier than relating the good news, obviously because we have not worked on that grace given to do His will, or the fact that a person cannot give what he or she does not have . The point I am trying to get to is, evangelising is easier than gossiping. Also, evangelising is also easier and beneficial just as talking about business, society and other matters of interest. This is why it is;- First of all, gossiping is draining. No matter how sweet or it makes you feel, it makes you sick after having enough of it. Secondly, when you begin to talk about Jesus, it becomes effortless because it is the Holy Spirit who gives ...

My Testimony by Benjamin Okenna

MY Testimony 1: After I graduated from Secondary School I had only one choice of course/career in mind to pursue and that was to become a LAWYER! However for some strange reasons I just couldn't secure my dream admission to study LAW... After several years of frustration, I ended up with a Degree in POLITICAL SCIENCE...then one Monday morning after my FOOTBALL TRAINING a pastor who had come to pray with my team CITADEL FC (as was the custom every Monday Morning), while praying suddenly stopped and said "there's someone here that has something to do with the media (TV/Radio)" - at the time I was already a sportscaster so the whole team just Shouted SAWADINHO...Then he looked at me and said "the course you studied in school is not what you wanted...GOD said I should tell you that you'll go back and study LAW...that is his design for You" he then instructed that I go and apply and that I'll get in with ease! Shocked, I just stood there mouth open wi...

AVAILABILITY

Hey guys, You may have heard the phrase " There is nothing God cannot do with an ill equipped vessel." Infact I like to think that those kind of vessels are what He goes for, because His mighty hands can do so much with them. The Bible in 1st Corinthians 4:7 tells us;     " But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,       that the excellency of the power may be of       God, and not us." ( KJV ) From what Apostle Paul wrote, It is very clear that it is never about how much you know but what you can do with the little you know, because out of that, the name of God will be glorified. The issue is not that you do not have what it takes to serve Him and draw men to Him through that service, but that your fears and cares have taken the centre of your life. In essence, There is no availability. There is no bit of interest in serving Him. Service is not something you say, it is something you do . Think about it, I...

ARISE (PART ONE)

Hello Child Of God, Recently, I came across a story of a well celebrated  western actress who committed suicide, and a lot others who we may think that all is really rosy for them. After reading a few stories, I was reminded of a true life event that occurred many years back of a young boy who after church services will go out for evangelism with his father who pastored a church in the town they lived in. On a rainy saturday which his father had set aside for evangelism, The young boy dressed up and picked his little bag that contained his bible and tracts, He went to his father's side to ask if he wasn't going to go out, His father told him that the weather was probably not fair enough and that they could go the next day after service. He insisted that he would love to go and will take an umbrella. His father hesitated but permitted him, instructing him to stop at a particular area and return home. He set of and shared a few tracts to some persons on the road running to t...

JCCF DRAMA WEEK (RSU)

Hi Guys, The JCCF drama week has came to a great end today, 20th May 2018which commenced from 16th - 20th May 2018. It was a thrilling experience, with the purpose to draw men to Christ through the ministration of drama. All the details are highlighted on the flier, However it is noteworthy to know that there was a drama walk across hostels, including an orphanage visitation and finally a skill acquisition programme. The drama took place at the Chapel Of Redemption located in the Rivers state university campus. Futhermore, the plot is centred on an ocultic   group that was outwitted by the mighty power of God, through a pastor and his prayer team. Vividly, the Hand of God is seen in the work of these young, vibrant souls whose labour to reach out the gospel through this means will be rewarded. Thank you Daniel Temple-Emeya for the contribution. Share your thoughts and experiences as well. #Lets do more because we can. God bless you ❤️

My Experience By Theophany Abidde

Hello, My name is Theophany Abidde, but in today's post, I am not the girl behind The Evangelist Blog but one sharing her experience. I hope it will be worthwhile reading it. Recently, on the 14th May 2018, on reaching school, my course mates, Chisom and Favour and I decided to go for an hour out to speak with some students in campus..we were going to have lectures by 9:30am, so why wait for an hour and forty minutes doing nothing( except reading). In bright moods, we picked our bibles( small enough to fit into our bags). We strolled to the car back behind the faculty of law in the Rivers state university,  and shortly we were in front of department of mathematics at the science arena, and we prayed. After which, we went separate ways by the leading of the Holy Spirit. The first set of persons I met where three young men, all three of them are engineering students, They stated that they where in a hurry for morning lectures, However they decided to give me a few minutes which ...

JCCF EVANGELISM WEEK

HI THERE, Amazingly, it is the JCCF Evangelism Week in the Rivers state university chapter precisely. A quick run on what JCCF is;- It is the Joint Christian Campus Fellowship , A coalition of all Christian fellowships in higher institutions across Nigeria. It's mission is to co-ordinate Christian Campus Fellowships, create disciplined youths who have burning desires for God's work. Apparently, that is why the evangelism week which started 7th May and will end on 13th May 2018 has been set aside to take out the mission of what we know as the H eart Beat Of God . The Evangelist Blog met with the Prayer secretary of the JCCF Evangelism Directorate, Mr Daniel Tonye Temple-Emeya who gracefully informed that the goal of the team is to reach out to all faculties and hostels in the campus. He added that the team will also be visiting the Elele Prison on 12th May 2018 . The pictures displayed are excerpts from word on the streets. It is beautiful to know that young men and w...

Motivation Monday

Think on these words, We can do more!

DO NOT SLEEP ON THE JOB

Hi There, I will like to address the notion by some of us who go out for evangelism, with the mindset that we do not have the right words to communicate. First of all, I will like to clarify that evangelism is a spiritual exercise , Nothing that you do out there can entirely be your effort, Infact it is no effort of yours. All you have to do is show up and The Holy Spirit will take it from there. In the Acts Of The Apostles 4:29 - Peter and John asked The Lord for boldness to speak the message of Christ. Be reminded that Peter was a fisherman, they were not educated but they spoke eloquently by the power of the Spirit of God. Evangelism is not so much in what you say but in what speaks through you. Apostle Paul, The well schooled lawyer and scholar understood this point clearly and so he said in 1st Corinthians 2:1- that he did not use big words, great learning, or human wisdom to pass the message but with convincing proof of the power of God's Spirit. If we take n...

THE CURRENT REPORT

Hello Child Of God, Recently, I came across a passage in the bible, ISAIAH 53; which highlighted the coming of our Lord Jesus and His suffering, Isaiah prophesied that although the servant will succeed in His task but that it was the Father's will that He would be rejected and despised. He was so disfigured that he hardly looked human.(wow!) Men and women reported that it was impossible for him to be the Saviour, They never imagined the hand of God in it. Futhermore, Jesus was badly treated that there was nothing attractive about Him, Nothing that will draw us to Him. Carefully look at the above statement: There was nothing attractive about Him . The current and permanent report is that there is everything to be attracted to as you read this message. -He is seated in a place of honour,a place among the great and powerful.- Isaiah 53:12 -He has a name above every other name - Philippians 2:9. If you cannot see the beauty and power that He is.. Then I believe you must add...

PERSONAL

Hello Child Of God, I have heard people say that I take Jesus like He is  only for me and that I take it so personal . Most times I am quick to say that it is because He took His mission to die for me very personal , and of course when you accept Him as personal Lord and Saviour, it is a relationship, not a mechanical affair. Let's take a close look at David, The Bible describes him as the man after God's heart, the beloved. When he prayed and addressed God, He never addressed Him like someone far off, but as the Father and Lord. Our issue in spreading the gospel can be linked to the fact that it is not ' personal ' to us..To some of us, Christ is what we met or just a man who did well for you and all you can do is 'serve' Him. A man you love is a man you can't stop gushing about, a man you can't stop thinking about, You just keep talking about Him( and of course praying that people will be blessed and liberated). Beloved, He is the essential part ...

The Introduction

Hello,     My name is Theophany Abidde, The girl behind.... The Evangelist . I would love to share alot on this introduction, but i will make it brief.     Over the past few years of knowing our Father and His incomparable love, I have learnt that we cannot keep this good news to ourselves alone. There is a popular saying which is - Evangelism is the heartbeat of God . Thus, we must do the Father's will with all diligence. I will add that in carrying out this dominion mandate, we must do what has to be done, not what we feel must be done. Live beyond your feelings, and this assignment will be more easier by the help of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Book reminds us in the book of Proverbs 11:30 .... " he that winneth soul is wise."       I believe the sharing of the gospel is not only for those called in the ministry of Evangelism but as many that have accepted Him as their personal Lord and Saviour. ( Matthew 28:19 )      ...
