You know something funny about this life, you never think or believe that you can have certain experiences in your life until you are finally there. Well this is just one part of my story, nobody knows this story though, but the purpose of my sharing is for you to know that God is real. He sees and listens, He loves you so much and He is a very present help in our time of need.
There was a time in my life when I used to have periods of moderate depression. Now these periods didn't usually last hours or a day, it could be a week or more and people wouldn't really notice because for some reason I'm assumed to be quiet (LOL). I would be in my head for so long going through all my problems, wondering how I got there, loathing myself and my choices, my environment, people and their effect or rather their influence, seeing no way of progress etc and then when I can't take it anymore, I cry my eyes out and confide in the one I know can help me. Jesus.
Now the crazy thing is afterwards, I would sleep and when I wake up the following day, it's as though I don't have a problem in the world, that is, the load was lifted. I was given sanity and also, the problems I had were given solutions, some I had to execute myself. It was then I understood and saw the expression of the scripture in Psalm 34:18 that says;-
"The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a br oken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit".
No matter what you are going through, don't listen to the voice that says "you'd never get through this" ,"God doesn't love you" or "you're not worth it" that's the lie of the devil. Whatever you've been through, whatever you've done be still love you.
In conclusion, He was my drug, he was my fix and He never gave me adverse effects.
This happened in the course of my salvation journey.
