AVAILABILITY

Hey guys, You may have heard the phrase " There is nothing God cannot do with an ill equipped vessel." Infact I like to think that those kind of vessels are what He goes for, because His mighty hands can do so much with them. The Bible in 1st Corinthians 4:7 tells us;     " But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,       that the excellency of the power may be of       God, and not us." ( KJV ) From what Apostle Paul wrote, It is very clear that it is never about how much you know but what you can do with the little you know, because out of that, the name of God will be glorified. The issue is not that you do not have what it takes to serve Him and draw men to Him through that service, but that your fears and cares have taken the centre of your life. In essence, There is no availability. There is no bit of interest in serving Him. Service is not something you say, it is something you do . Think about it, I...

ARISE (PART ONE)

Hello Child Of God, Recently, I came across a story of a well celebrated  western actress who committed suicide, and a lot others who we may think that all is really rosy for them. After reading a few stories, I was reminded of a true life event that occurred many years back of a young boy who after church services will go out for evangelism with his father who pastored a church in the town they lived in. On a rainy saturday which his father had set aside for evangelism, The young boy dressed up and picked his little bag that contained his bible and tracts, He went to his father's side to ask if he wasn't going to go out, His father told him that the weather was probably not fair enough and that they could go the next day after service. He insisted that he would love to go and will take an umbrella. His father hesitated but permitted him, instructing him to stop at a particular area and return home. He set of and shared a few tracts to some persons on the road running to t...

JCCF DRAMA WEEK (RSU)

Hi Guys, The JCCF drama week has came to a great end today, 20th May 2018which commenced from 16th - 20th May 2018. It was a thrilling experience, with the purpose to draw men to Christ through the ministration of drama. All the details are highlighted on the flier, However it is noteworthy to know that there was a drama walk across hostels, including an orphanage visitation and finally a skill acquisition programme. The drama took place at the Chapel Of Redemption located in the Rivers state university campus. Futhermore, the plot is centred on an ocultic   group that was outwitted by the mighty power of God, through a pastor and his prayer team. Vividly, the Hand of God is seen in the work of these young, vibrant souls whose labour to reach out the gospel through this means will be rewarded. Thank you Daniel Temple-Emeya for the contribution. Share your thoughts and experiences as well. #Lets do more because we can. God bless you ❤️

My Experience By Theophany Abidde

Hello, My name is Theophany Abidde, but in today's post, I am not the girl behind The Evangelist Blog but one sharing her experience. I hope it will be worthwhile reading it. Recently, on the 14th May 2018, on reaching school, my course mates, Chisom and Favour and I decided to go for an hour out to speak with some students in campus..we were going to have lectures by 9:30am, so why wait for an hour and forty minutes doing nothing( except reading). In bright moods, we picked our bibles( small enough to fit into our bags). We strolled to the car back behind the faculty of law in the Rivers state university,  and shortly we were in front of department of mathematics at the science arena, and we prayed. After which, we went separate ways by the leading of the Holy Spirit. The first set of persons I met where three young men, all three of them are engineering students, They stated that they where in a hurry for morning lectures, However they decided to give me a few minutes which ...

JCCF EVANGELISM WEEK

HI THERE, Amazingly, it is the JCCF Evangelism Week in the Rivers state university chapter precisely. A quick run on what JCCF is;- It is the Joint Christian Campus Fellowship , A coalition of all Christian fellowships in higher institutions across Nigeria. It's mission is to co-ordinate Christian Campus Fellowships, create disciplined youths who have burning desires for God's work. Apparently, that is why the evangelism week which started 7th May and will end on 13th May 2018 has been set aside to take out the mission of what we know as the H eart Beat Of God . The Evangelist Blog met with the Prayer secretary of the JCCF Evangelism Directorate, Mr Daniel Tonye Temple-Emeya who gracefully informed that the goal of the team is to reach out to all faculties and hostels in the campus. Motivation Monday

Think on these words, We can do more!

DO NOT SLEEP ON THE JOB

Hi There, I will like to address the notion by some of us who go out for evangelism, with the mindset that we do not have the right words to communicate. First of all, I will like to clarify that evangelism is a spiritual exercise , Nothing that you do out there can entirely be your effort, Infact it is no effort of yours. All you have to do is show up and The Holy Spirit will take it from there. In the Acts Of The Apostles 4:29 - Peter and John asked The Lord for boldness to speak the message of Christ. Be reminded that Peter was a fisherman, they were not educated but they spoke eloquently by the power of the Spirit of God. Evangelism is not so much in what you say but in what speaks through you. Apostle Paul, The well schooled lawyer and scholar understood this point clearly and so he said in 1st Corinthians 2:1- that he did not use big words, great learning, or human wisdom to pass the message but with convincing proof of the power of God's Spirit. If we take n...
