A glance at the picture of a soldier below carrying his colleague who got wounded in battle on his shoulders sent huge drops of compassion down my heart. What manner of love is this even in the heat of battle? All I could think of is our race as Christians, as soldiers of Christ. The story of a soldier is a true life story of every Christian. The Christian race is never a selfish one. We’re sent as an army and can only conquer through the power of unity.
Kenneth Haggin rightly said in his book; The Key To The Supernatural that the key to the last day move of the supernatural power of God will be found in two words: "unity" and "accord". This is the key to conquer all battles. The key to overcome and defeat the war against Christianity. But sadly, we have no idea that we are our own battle. Pitiable, we are simply what we should stand to fight against. We derive pleasure in making jest of another’s downfall, speaking ill of another’s weakness and glorifying ourselves on how better we know Christ. Like Apostle Paul asked in I Corinthians 1:13; Is Christ divided?
We should all know that the hallmark of the Christian race lies in the oneness of our hearts, in looking out for each other; I Corinthians1:10
Despite our differences, we should bear with each other, letting the Spirit of God do His work of conviction and help us focus on becoming one . That should be our earnest prayer and desire just as our saviour Jesus Christ prayed on our behalf.
Let us always look down to help a brother rise again. For our strength lies in our bond, our bond is bound together by love. Such love that cannot be broken, such love that will make us look out for a broken brother, a fallen sister, a discouraged friend…the same love Christ gave when He said it is finished… He gave it all for our sake friends… this is deep...
If only we knew…
